15 Essential Travel Accessories for Long Haul Flights (6+ Hours): Find the Perfect Gift for Your Favorite Luxury Travel Enthusiast

I have been to over 60 countries often times with flight itineraries that have flying times over 6 hours so having a travel system in place is critical to making the transit experience as painless as possible. These are the in flight travel accessories I have on in my carry-on bag.

Hydration for Face, Skin, Hands and Feet

Air at high altitudes (especially 30,000 feet and above) is very drying and it takes a toll on my face, lips, hands and feet in particular. As such, it is critical that my in-flight travel kit include hydrating toiletries.

My favorite super hydrating lip mask and lip gloss kit is the La Niege Sleeping Lip Mask and Glow Lip Balm*. Its conditioning properties are long lasting and unlike any lip balm I have ever tried. It is unmatched.
I have super sensitive, acne prone skin so I am particular about the face lotion I use and Cerave products have been kind to my skin. My go to for flights is Cerave Hyaluronic Acid Serum*.
For hands and feet, my favorite lotion is L’Occitane Hand Cream* but I am also not above using whatever free lotion the latest hotel I have been to has distributed.

Tech Support: Tech Accessories to Help Make Long Haul Flights Feel Short

Long Haul flights usually require some entertainment. However not all planes are created equal so I like to have some tech related accessories to make the time pass by as soon as possible.

Noise cancelling wireless headphones. I am currently using Boise QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Headphones*. I love these because they are comfortable, wireless and block out outside noise.
Plane Bluetooth Adapter. The noise cancelling headsets are great but usually can only be used with your personal devices and not the plane’s entertainment system, which is why a plane bluetooth adapter comes in handy! It helps you use your headset with the plane’s television or in flight radio. The one I am currently using is compact and easy to travel with so I love it. It is the Twelve South AirFly Pro Transmitter*.
Back-up Battery. I use my electronic devices often so a charger is essential. My absolute favorite travel charger is the Mophie 3x Powerstation* This back-up battery has enough power to fully charge 3 devices and allows you to charge 2 devices at a time. It is also very compact so it is very easy to pack.
Long Charging Cord. Speaking of back up power, many flights nowadays have an outlet (i.e., USB or traditional) where you can charge your electronic devices. I learned the hard way that often times the device is in an area that is not comfortably close to where you would use the device so I now carry long charging cords (at least 5 feet) to reach the most inconvenient of places on planes. I also bring a charging base because not all flights have USB charging ports.
Current Converter. I bring a current converter with me on non-domestic flights with non-domestic airlines. This is important because sometimes you will board a flight with an outlet but the plane’s outlet will have a different current than is supported by your devices. So rather than packing the current converter, I bring it with me on the plane. My favorite travel current converter is the Bestek Universal Travel Adapter*. This also works as my charging base when I travelling to an international destination.

Hand Sanitizer, Cleansing Wipes and Tissues

Even before the pandemic, I took hand sanitizer and cleansing wipes very seriously but I am now religious with it. Here’s my official self proclaimed germaphobe kit. LOL.

Hand Sanitizer and Tissues. Occasionally, I am asleep when meal and/or beverage service commences so that means it becomes impossible to wash my hands without having to wait 30 minutes to get back to my seat (or even worse, trying to climb over someone who has a tray on their tray table) so hand sanitizer and tissues are a godsend. My favorite is Bath and Body Works 1 Fl. Oz. Hand Sanitizer Gel*.
Anti-Bacterial Cleansing Wipes and Disinfectant Spray. Especially since my toddler son joined our family, this is clutch to make sure I don’t have anxiety over my son deciding it is time to lick the tray table or any other plane surface.

Medication

Nothing can make a plane ride even longer than an ailment. So I make sure that I have headache medication, muscle relaxant (in the form of medicated menthol patches*), antacids and allergy medication with me. It is also super helpful when traveling to places where the medication equivalent is not familiar (or in a different language). Smart Phone

If the airplane does not have built in entertainment, then my smart phone serves as a good back up. I also like to take notes for upcoming projects and map out plans in the notes section of my phone so it is a must have. Besides, the ability to take an airplane selfie or video never hurt anyone.

Socks

It doesn’t matter the season if I don’t have a pair of comfy socks with me, I will be miserable during my flight. So I make sure I always have a pair on me. The current ones that I am using are the CharmKing Compression Socks*.
